Location: Dublin | Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Salary: €65,000 – €78,000 DOE

An established organisation is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of its cybersecurity operations. This role will oversee security monitoring, incident response, and technical integration across cloud and on-premises environments.

The Role
You’ll play a key role in defining detection strategies, managing advanced investigations, and ensuring consistent security controls across the business. The position suits someone with strong technical depth and a passion for building resilient, secure systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of security monitoring and detection tools.
• Manage and investigate high-severity security incidents, coordinating response and recovery.
• Develop playbooks, detection logic, and automation workflows.
• Collaborate with IT, cloud, and compliance teams to maintain strong governance.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to process improvements.
• Conduct threat assessments and recommend architecture enhancements.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in cybersecurity operations or engineering.
• Expertise in SIEM, EDR, or XDR platforms and incident response processes.
• Strong grasp of cloud and network security fundamentals.
• Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or MITRE ATT&CK.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
